The Bridge Foundation has been awarded a Recovery Housing Grant of Pennsylvania Opioid Settlement Funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) providing individuals who wish to transition to recovery housing with scholarships in Pennsylvania licensed recovery houses as well as connecting residents to Certified Recovery Specialist peer support and case management services.

How to Apply: Our Bridge to Recovery Housing scholarships are available statewide beginning January 2, 2026 to individuals with financial need entering Pennsylvania licensed recovery housing. Our Scholarship Application Form can be submitted online (link below).

Counties Served & Eligibility: The Bridge is a Statewide Recovery Housing Hub serving all counties except where another Pennsylvania Recovery Housing Hub run by a partnering organization (also funded by DDAP to provide recovery housing scholarships) serves a designated region. Bridge Scholarships are only available to applicants who are not eligible for assistance from a local Recovery Housing Hub or SCA serving your county.

Please Note: We do not provide funding in the above regions served by our Partners without a direct request and referral from that Hub due to Applicant ineligibility.

Participating Recovery Houses: Pennsylvania licensed recovery houses are required to register with us prior to receiving funds for the benefit of a resident. Application for Bridge to Recovery Housing Scholarship

Scholarship Application Form

APPLICANTS: Please allow up to two (2) weeks for application decision and notification. Review takes minimum of 1 week. If Applicant is at immediate risk of homelessness within the next 48 hours, contact us by email.

Applications must be submitted NO LATER THAN 14 DAYS FOLLOWING RESIDENT ENTRY into a recovery house.
scholarships may only be applied at recovery houses licensed by the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
This funding supports resident transition to recovery housing: We do not provide financial assistance to residents who have been living at the recovery house for more than thirty days or for past amounts due (“back rent”).

Forms to submit by Recovery Housing Provider online for each Resident Scholarship Recipient:

Invoice Submission and End of Month Outcomes Reporting Form
- Monthly submission at end of the Month in recovery housing for which a Scholarship applies
  - (An invoice is to be uploaded by the Recovery House at the end of each Scholarship Month using this Form (*this is to be submitted at the end of the 30 days the resident is in your Program, not at the end of a calendar month)
  - Our Outcomes Survey has been incorporated into this Invoice Submission Form. You will need to submit only one form for any month a scholarship applies.
  - The Recovery House is responsible for submitting these Forms with information provided by the Resident and House Manager

_{Recovery House Payment Process}

_{The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) has provided a grant opportunity for individuals to receive scholarships to Licensed Recovery Homes across the Commonwealth. The Bridge Foundation is a Pennsylvania Recovery Housing Hub distributing these funds statewide to provide quality support for individual residents receiving scholarships. Our payment process is reimbursement-based, not upfront payment. Recovery houses submit the invoice, renewal if applicable, and outcomes/recovery capital survey at the end of each scholarship month. The resident’s month of recovery housing costs is invoiced, then Bridge/DDAP funding is released later.}

_{Our goal is to assist residents with securing safe, supportive housing in early recovery without added financial stress. A scholarship resident is not responsible to pay any recovery housing program fees while the approved Bridge scholarship payment is still pending and should not be requested to do so. No housing fees are to be owed by a resident during an approved Scholarship Month, including any entry fees.}

_{Please note: The typical reimbursement timeline of the Commonwealth takes up to 90 days, so the Bridge payment timeline to the recovery house may be delayed several months. If you are concerned about the status of your Bridge scholarship payment, we ask that you reach out to us directly to request payment status.}

_{Scholarship Duration and Covered Housing Fees}

_{Our scholarship Program provides one (1) month of recovery housing if funds remain available The scholarship follows the resident: In the event the resident leaves a recovery house, the scholarship period remaining still can be applied at any licensed recovery house.}

_{Other Fees. Once the initial 30-day scholarship period ends, the} _{resident would then be responsible for regular housing fees in accordance with house policy moving forward. However the resident would not be responsible for move-in fees, as they would have moved in at the start of the scholarship period and that cannot be charged after the scholarship ends. The initial first month scholarship covers the first month of recovery housing costs, period. Including any entry or move-in fees.}
